Root38 (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This notice explains how our mobile applications – Event Countdown, Exam Countdown, PlanIt and Numbers Game (collectively, “Our Apps”) – collect, use, share and protect information about you, and how you can exercise your rights.

We are the controller of your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

All are available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Our Apps do not request access to your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, photos, health data or clipboard.

You can withdraw any consent (analytics, marketing, ads) in-App or via your device settings; this won’t affect past processing.
Email communications:
If you receive newsletters or promotional emails, each will include an unsubscribe link. You may also write to support@root38.zendesk.com to opt out of all marketing messages.
5. Sharing your data
We share data only with carefully-selected service providers, each bound by strict confidentiality and UK GDPR-compliant terms:

We do not sell or rent your personal data to any other parties.
6. Compliance, business transactions & links
Legal compliance:
We will disclose your personal information where required by law or in response to lawful requests by public authorities (e.g. to meet national security or law-enforcement requirements), or to protect the rights, property or safety of Root38, our users, or others.
Business transactions:
If Root38 Ltd is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Links to other sites:
Our Apps may contain links to external websites or services not operated by us. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices—please review their policies before use.
7. International transfers
Data in Firebase, RevenueCat, Zendesk and Nolt.io may be stored outside the UK/EU (e.g., in the US). Transfers rely on:
- Google’s EU–US Data Privacy Framework & UK extension
- Standard Contractual Clauses
- Equivalent safeguards for Zendesk & Nolt.io
8. Data retention

Expired data will be irreversibly deleted or anonymised.
9. Security
- TLS encryption (HTTPS) for all data in transit
- Firebase-backed encryption at rest
- Role-based staff access, MFA, regular security audits
No system is perfectly secure, but we follow industry best practices to protect your data.
10. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you may:
- Access your data
- Rectify inaccuracies
- Erase (“right to be forgotten”)
- Restrict or object to processing
- Port your data to another service
- Withdraw consent at any time
Email support@root38.zendesk.com with your request; we’ll reply within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk).
11. Children
Our Apps are not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
12. Changes
We’ll update this policy for new features, legal changes or service updates. We’ll highlight major changes in-App and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use means you accept the new policy.
13. Governing law
This policy and any disputes related to it are governed by the laws of England & Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
